Checking In/Out

What is your check-in and check-out time?
Check-in time is 3 pm EST and check-out time is 12 noon EST. If you plan to check in late, please inform the hotel as a courtesy but, please do know, that regardless of notification, all rooms will be held until 7am the day following your scheduled check in.

Is there a place for me to store my luggage at the front desk as I will be arriving before my check-in time or checking out earlier than the time I need to leave?
Yes. You can store your luggage at the front desk. Please inquire with the front desk for any other details.

What amenities do you have in your hotels?
Our amenities are listed on each respective hotel page.

Do the rooms have private bathrooms?
Yes. The rooms do have private bathrooms. You can find out about other amenities on our hotel pages.

Are there safes in the rooms?
All hotels have safes at the front desk for you to store items. Some have in-room safes. Please visit the respective hotel page for details.

Is breakfast included in the rate?
Yes. Complimentary Continental breakfast is included in the rate.

Does your hotel have (wireless) Internet access (Wi-Fi, 802.11)?
Yes. All of our hotels have free wireless Internet access.

What do your rooms look like?
You can view pictures of the hotels and their rooms on the respective hotel pages.

How many people can stay per room?
2 people can stay in a Queen or a King size bed and 4 people in a room with 2 Queen size beds.

Are your rooms non-smoking?
We do have non-smoking rooms in all of our hotels available upon request. The Comfort Inn Midtown is a completely smoke-free hotel (smoking is not allowed anywhere).

Are pets allowed?
Sorry but we do not allow pets at our hotels. However, please call the respective hotels front desk to check the policy on guide dogs.

How do I get in touch with the hotel front desk or staff?
You can reach the hotel front desk or staff by calling the respective hotel numbers which are available on each hotel page on this site.

How can I make special requests for things such as
extra bedding or blankets?

You can make special requests by calling the hotel front desk and they can assist you with any possible requests.

How do I find out availability and rates for rooms?
Please visit the Reservations section of our site. The rates you see online are our best available rates. You can also call our Reservations department at 1800-567-7720 (toll free within the U.S) or +212-790-2710. Reservations are open 24/7.

What payment methods can I use to pay for my reservation?
Credit cards and Cash. For credit cards, we accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and JCB. Please contact our Reservations Department for more details. Reservations are open 24/7. Please note that we do not charge your credit card until the time of your arrival – the credit card information we take is merely to ensure your reservation.

What are taxes for hotel stay?
Taxes are 14.25% + $3.50 New York occupancy tax per night per room (subject to change without notice) until July 31, 2009. Taxes are 14.75% + $3.50 New York occupancy tax per night per room (subject to change without notice) starting August 1, 2009
Are the rates in US dollars?
Yes. All rates quoted for reservations are in US dollars.

I would like to cancel my reservation. What do I do?
You can cancel your reservation 24 hours prior to your arrival day before 3 pm EST. If you do not cancel by this time, you will be charged for one night’s stay. In order to cancel your reservation you can call our Reservations department at 1800-567-7720 or 212-790-2710 or cancel your reservation online. Reservations are open 24/7.

I would like to make changes to my reservation.
What do I do?

You can make changes to your reservation, by calling our Reservations department at 1800-567-7720 or 212-790-2710 or making a request online (choose the topic "Reservation"). Reservations are open 24/7.

Can I get any discounts on my reservation?
To find out about discounts, please check our Specials and Packages section with offers and promotions. You can also call our Reservations department at 1800-567-7720 or 212-790-2710. Reservations are open 24/7. AARP and AAA discounts (10% each, cannot be combined with another offer) are made at the time of check-in so be sure to have your membership card on you.

I am below the age of 21 years, can I make a reservation at your hotel?
Unfortunately we do not allow anyone below the age of 21 years to make a reservation at our hotel. You can check the terms and conditions for more details.

I have called the hotel and they cannot find my reservation. What do I do?
If the hotel is unable to find your reservation, please contact our Reservations department at 1800-567-7720 (toll free within the U.S) or +212-790-2710. Reservations are open 24/7.

Where is the hotel located?
You can find out the exact location of the hotels, by taking a look at the map on our site or visit the individual hotel pages.

How do I get to the hotel from the airport?
Please visit the respective hotel page to find directions to our hotels.

Is there parking near the hotels?
There is reduced rate parking at garages near the hotels. In order to receive the reduced rate, you must park at the garage, then present your ticket from the garage to a staff member at the front desk, who will then validate it which will ensure that you get the reduced rate upon leaving the garage. Please check each individual hotel's page for more information about the specific garages that offer a discount. For most up to date rates, please also call the hotel front desks for more information.

What shopping, tourist attractions, theaters, restaurants are near the hotels?

How do I get to the hotel from the airport?

JFK:

You can consult this site to get more information on the following options.

1) Taxis:
Yellow cabs are available relatively easily at the Airport. The flat fare from JFK Airport is about $45.00 plus any tolls and tips. Note that the meter should not be turned on and the night surcharge is not be added. You will need to tip the cab driver (normally 10% of the fare).

2) Public transit:
If you don’t mind carrying your luggage, take the quick and easy AirTrain. AirTrain, which costs $5 per person, allows you to get to the subway station. Then, you’ll have a $2 subway fare to go to the hotel. The AirTrain connects to the A Train, which you should take to West 4th Street, unless you are going to the Ramada Inn. There, you should take the B, D, F or V train. Exit at 34th Street and 6th Avenue for the La Quinta Manhattan or the Red Roof Manhattan. Exit at 47th Street and 6th Avenue for the Hotel @ Times Square and the Comfort Inn Midtown. If you are going to the Ramada Inn, take the A train to Wall St and transfer to the Uptown 4 or 5 train. At 14th Street – Union Square, transfer to the 6 train (on the opposite side of the platform) and exit at 33rd Street and Park Avenue. Please find a link to the subway map below:

If you return to JFK via subway, make sure to take the A train marked Far Rockaway or Rockaway Park, NOT Lefferts Blvd

3) Shuttle Services
You also may use Super Shuttle which is between $15-$20 per person and drops you off right at your destination. No reservations are required from the airport to your destination but they are required for your return trip. You may visit their website or call them at 1-800-258-3826 to make a reservation. Do note that on return trips, you may be required to be picked up as early as 4 hours before your departure to allow time for the shuttle to pick up other passengers.

4) Buses
Privately owned New York Airport Service Buses are a popular way to get to and from LaGuardia and JFK airports. They pick up from each airport every half hour and drop passengers at Grand Central Terminal on 42nd Street and Park Avenue. Fares are $27 round trip for JFK and $15 for one way. Tickets can be purchased online or at the airport bus stop (found outside every baggage claim) and at the office near Grand Central (on Park Avenue, between 41st and 42nd Street, under the green bridge). The trip takes anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on traffic.

5) Car services:
For car services, please contact the concierge at the hotel at which you are staying. She’ll be happy to assist you and help you with a car reservation.

From LaGuardia:

You can consult this site to get more information on the following options.

1) Taxis:
Yellow cabs are available relatively easily at the Airport. The fare from LaGuardia to any of Apple Core Hotels is usually around $22 but can vary depending on traffic. Please note that this fare does not include bridge tolls. You will need to tip the cab driver (normally 10% of the fare).

2) Public Transportation
If you are going to the Comfort Inn Midtown, the Hotel @ Times Square, the La Quinta Manhattan or the Red Roof Manahattan: You may take the Q33 Bus to Roosevelt Avenue-Jackson Heights in Queens and then switch to the F train to Manhattan. If you are staying at the Comfort Inn Midtown or the Hotel @ Times Square, get off at 47th Street and 6th Avenue. If you are staying at the La Quinta Manhattan or the Red Roof Inn Manhattan, get off at 34th Street and 6th Avenue.

If you are going to the Ramada Inn: You may take the Q33 Bus to 74th and Broadway stop in Queens and then switch to the 7 train to Manhattan. Transfer to the downtown 6 train at 42nd Street-Grand Central, go one stop, and exit at 33rd Street and Park Avenue.

2) Shuttle Services

Wi-Fi/Internet Access

wifilogoApple Core Hotels offers complimentary high-speed wireless Internet connectivity, commonly referred to as Wi-Fi, WLAN or 802.11b, at all five of its Midtown Manhattan-based properties.

Bring a laptop with 802.11b compatible wireless network card and you'll be surfing the web and checking your email in no time. This service is free of charge and accessible in all guest rooms and public spaces.

To connect to our network use the following settings:
  • IP: Set to 'Obtain an IP Address Automatically' (DHCP)
  • DNS: Set to 'Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically'
  • SSID: Set to 'Ethnostream' (WiFi only)
  • WEP: WEP encryption is not used (WiFi only)

Tips:
  • Write down your present network settings before making any changes
  • Always reboot your computer after making changes to network settings
  • Make sure that browser proxy-settings are turned off
  • You may need to use your wireless client software to scan for our network. Please refer to your owner's manual for instructions.

Tech Support
To keep our WiFi connectivity free we do not offer technical support. If you are inexperienced or unsuccessful in connecting to our network, we kindly ask you to refer to the person who usually solves your technical issues, such as your company systems administrator or 'that kid down the block'.

Security
Our WiFi network is for public use and therefore by definition not secure. It is up to you, the end user, to take the security/privacy options that you feel are appropriate, e.g. using a VPN tunnel, firewalls, anti-virus software, etc. etc.
