Apple Core Hotels' "MTA Centennial" package
This salute to the city's subways, which have carried millions of riders since its October 27, 1904 inauguration, includes complimentary continental breakfast, admission to the New York City Transit Museum for a viewing of the Centennial Celebration Exhibit and an unlimited one-day MetroCard.
MetroCards are valid for travel on all buses and subways between New York City boroughs, making it an easy and economical way for visitors to migrate from a business meeting to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, or The Museum of Modern Art in Queens, to Times Square in Manhattan and on to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, all in one day.

Aug 1 - Aug 26, 2004 Apple Core Hotels' "Lady Liberty" package
Apple Core Hotels is saluting the Statue of Liberty in all her splendor and commemorating her August 3rd reopening with its new "Liberty in the City" package.
The "Liberty in the City" package includes complimentary Continental breakfast, a Lady Liberty T-shirt and 5% of the proceeds from reservations will be donated to the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Endowment Fund (more info in the press release).
Package rates start at just $139, based on double occupancy. Donations are based on pre-taxed rates. T-shirts are limited to two per room. The package was available August 1-26, 2004.

Free Wi-Fi (WLAN) access in Midtown Apple Core Hotels
Apple Core Hotels has installed complimentary high-speed wireless Internet connectivity, commonly referred to as Wi-Fi, WLAN or 802.11b, at all five of its Midtown Manhattan-based properties.
Bring a laptop with 802.11b compatible wireless network card and you'll be surfing the web and checking your email in no time. This service is free of charge and accessible in all guest rooms and public spaces (more info in the press release).
To connect to our network use the following settings:
- IP: Set to 'Obtain an IP Address Automatically' (DHCP)
- DNS: Set to 'Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically'
- SSID: Set to '3COM' (WiFi only)
- WEP: WEP encryption is not used (WiFi only)
Tips:
- Write down your present network settings before making any changes
- Always reboot your computer after making changes to network settings
- Make sure that browser proxy-settings are turned off
- You may need to use your wireless client software to scan for our network.
Please refer to your owner's manual for instructions.
Tech Support
To keep our WiFi connectivity free we do not offer technical support. If you are inexperienced or unsuccessful in connecting to our network, we kindly ask you to refer to the person who usually solves your technical issues, such as your company systems administrator or 'that kid down the block'.
Security
Our WiFi network is for public use and therefore by definition not secure. It is up to you, the end user, to take the security/privacy options that you feel are appropriate, e.g. using a VPN tunnel, firewalls, anti-virus software, etc. etc.
